Throwback Thursdays: ALF

Who can forget ALF? The TV Show about an extraterrestrial who crash-lands himself into a life with the Tanner family. ALF's real name is Gordon Shumway, and he's the last survivor from the planet Melmac. Willie Tanner gives him the nickname ALF, which is short for Alien Life Form. The Tanner's are nice enough to take ALF into their home and hide him from the Military's Alian Task Force, but during his time there ALF drives them crazy. He breaks things and tries to eat their cat. His behavior doesn't stop the Tanner's from making him a permanent member of their family. It was a really funny Sitcom from the late 80s.

Merlino's Hoagies is located at 1501 Ellsworth St Philadelphia, PA 19146. I stopped by Merlino's the other day, because it had been a couple years since I'd been there. They're still the best in South Philly. I think they're the best in Philly, period. The store has been in business since the early 1900s. The Original sign is still displayed outside. This is a place with a reputation so good, that they don't have to spend money on advertising. They don't even have to spend money on making the place look modern, or flashy. The food speaks for its self! The meats and cheese are so fresh. The rolls are awesome. If you are watching your carb intake, they do make sandwhiches on white, or wheat bread. WHERE IS JANTEYL?

This afternoon I experienced the scariest moment of my life. My son was missing. His sister had detention & he tried to take the subway & bus home by himself (this was at 3:30pm). He got lost. By 7pm we still could not find him. I felt my heart sink & it became hard to breathe. I didn't know what else to do. I didn't know if he was scared, or safe, or hurt.
