Overturning Roe v. Wade

People, I can't express enough how important this is to me. I do not like abortion. But I do not feel that it is my place or the governments place to tell a woman that she cannot get an abortion. One of John McCain's goals as president is to overturn Roe v. Wade. I Got this directly off of his website:

"Overturning Roe v. Wade
John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that courts should not be in the business of legislating from the bench.

Constitutional balance would be restored by the reversal of Roe v. Wade, returning the abortion question to the individual states. The difficult issue of abortion should not be decided by judicial fiat.

(Note: returning it to the state level doesn't mean it will still be legal. The state will decide on that. Continue reading)

However, the reversal of Roe v. Wade represents only one step in the long path toward ending abortion. Once the question is returned to the states, the fight for life will be one of courage and compassion - the courage of a pregnant mother to bring her child into the world and the compassion of civil society to meet her needs and those of her newborn baby. The pro-life movement has done tremendous work in building and reinforcing the infrastructure of civil society by strengthening faith-based, community, and neighborhood organizations that provide critical services to pregnant mothers in need. This work must continue and government must find new ways to empower and strengthen these armies of compassion. These important groups can help build the consensus necessary to end abortion at the state level. As John McCain has publicly noted, "At its core, abortion is a human tragedy. To effect meaningful change, we must engage the debate at a human level.""

(Did you see it: "These important groups can help build the consensus necessary to end abortion at the state level. " ----His ultimate goal is not to turn the decision over to the state, it's to end abortion all together).

So, women, ladies, sisters, if abortion is not your choice, think of your daughters, and your friends. Each woman has a different story. There are young girls who are victims of incest, women who were raped, given date rape drugs, have addictions & know they can't care for a baby and so on and so forth.

This would mean no legal abortions, no morning after pill, nada.

What other rights will be taken from women? If this happens, it takes us a step back. We'll slowly loose our rights one by one. Then women's rights are gone, POOF! You know what happens after that? Black people's rights will start being taken. Soon we'll be back to having slaves in the field & women in kitchen barefoot. This is what Republicans really want........

WHERE IS JANTEYL?

This afternoon I experienced the scariest moment of my life. My son was missing. His sister had detention & he tried to take the subway & bus home by himself (this was at 3:30pm). He got lost. By 7pm we still could not find him. I felt my heart sink & it became hard to breathe. I didn't know what else to do. I didn't know if he was scared, or safe, or hurt.
